The Chesterfield restaurant has been open for nearly eight years and is situated in the historic Falcon Yard on the corner of South Street. It utilises an old bare brick building with large double wooden doors to the side. We understand it to be the original stables for the horse-drawn fire engines that were situated next door in what was the old Victorian fire station, which has now been replaced by the County Library.
The Nottingham restaurant has been open in the city centre for almost thirteen years and is situated in a Grade II listed building, which was formerly the Elite Picture Theatre, originally opened on 22nd August 1921 with Mary Pickford in Pollyanna. The first talking film to be shown in Nottingham was also played at the Elite. All of the theatre’s original ornate plasterwork is still hidden behind the walls of The Soulville.
